Svetlana Akoyeva, MS, RD, CSO joined The Angeles Clinic and Research Institute and Cedars Sinai Cancer Patient and Family Support Program in 2019. She has over 10 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian and is a Board-Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from Kansas State University and her master’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics from California State University-Northridge. She completed her dietetic internship from Iowa State University.
As a member of the interdisciplinary clinical care team, Svetlana empowers patients with person-centered education. She provides evidence-based food and nutrition information to guide nutrition choices while focusing on individual preferences, cultural food traditions, and lifestyle. Part of a comprehensive approach for patients and family member support, Svetlana emphasizes the importance of nutrition throughout the cancer journey to promote healing and help maintain individual’s quality of life during treatment. Additionally, Svetlana supports continued healing and recovery through survivorship by promoting healthy lifestyles beyond cancer.
