Neel Joshi, MD

Dr. Neel Joshi is Vice Chair of the Department of Surgery (Physician Clinical Support) at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.  A native of Arizona, Dr. Joshi received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, graduating summa cum laude.  He then earned his medical degree from the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine.  Dr. Joshi completed residency and fellowship training in general surgery and minimally invasive surgery at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in 2009.  Since that time, he has built a busy and highly respected surgical practice at Cedars Sinai.  His clinical interests include abdominal wall hernias, sports hernias, gallstones, breast cancer and benign breast diseases.  He has specific expertise in robotic inguinal hernia repair, and he is a highly regarded educator and mentor for surgeons looking to develop this niche. 

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Joshi holds clinical professorial appointments at Cedars Sinai and UCLA.  He has also been active in medical staff leadership, serving 2 consecutive terms as the elected Clinical Chief of the Department of Surgery at Cedars Sinai from 2017-2020.

Dr. Joshi’s interests outside of medicine include spending quality time with his family, golf, food and travel.
