Carey Cullinane, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.S. is a board-certified and fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist at The Angeles Clinic and Research Institute, an affiliate of Cedars-Sinai. She is the newest surgical oncologist to join the practice, with a clinical focus on breast health and clinical genetics.
Dr. Cullinane received her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed her residency in general surgery at Tulane University at Charity Hospital. She earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Tulane University School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine. She then completed two fellowship programs at City of Hope National Medical Center in clinical cancer genetics and surgical oncology, where she also served as Administrative Chief of the Surgical Oncology Fellowship. She is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Previously, Dr. Cullinane served as Director of the Cancer Risk & Prevention Program at the Todd Cancer Institute at Long Beach Medical Center, Surgeon and Director of Cancer Genetics at Breastlink Medical Group, and Surgeon in the Department of General Oncologic Surgery at City of Hope National Medical Center. She has also served as a Professor in the Department of Surgery at the UC Irvine School of Medicine.
Dr. Cullinane has over a decade of scientific and medical research experience and has received multiple awards for her work. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and has presented at national and international meetings. Her research interests include BRCA gene mutations, genetic cancer risk assessment, breast cancer diagnosis, and surgical management of advanced malignancies.
Dr. Cullinane is a Fellow of the Society of Surgical Oncology and the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and is a member of the American Society of Breast Disease, City of Hope Surgical Society, and the Tulane Surgical Society.
