Alice Chung, MD, FACS, is a board-certified surgeon specializing in benign and malignant breast disease. She has fellowship training in breast cancer surgery, including nipple-sparing mastectomy, sentinel node biopsy and oncoplastic techniques.

Dr. Chung's research interests span a wide array of topics related to breast health, including outcomes for sentinel node-positive breast cancer patients, preoperative imaging for axillary metastases, breast conservative surgery for multifocal and multicentric breast cancer and the impact of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) on the treatment of ductal carcinoma in situ. She has authored numerous articles for peer reviewed publications, including Annals of Surgery, Annals of Surgical Oncology, Archives of Surgery, Surgical Oncology and the Breast Journal. Dr. Chung has presented clinical and translational studies at national scientific meetings on such diverse topics as breast imaging, the genetics of breast cancer and nutrition for cancer patients.

Dr. Chung earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and her medical degree from Chicago Medical School. She completed her residency and research fellowship in surgery at Cedars-Sinai, and then completed her fellowship in breast surgery at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

Dr. Chung serves as Associate Program Director of the Breast Oncology Fellowship Program at Cedars-Sinai and is Assistant Professor of Surgery. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Breast Disease, the Society of Clinical Oncology and the American College of Surgeons.
